Beaucoup d’artistes du collectif et plus largement du mouvement, ont joué le jeu comme Maethelvin qui nous livre sa vision du titre “Continue”.

King of the pop left us on Thursday, joining the stars that shine brightly above Los Angeles. For a last tribute, we found this illustration which encapsulates the power that he represented in the 80′s. It is the vinyl artwork from 1982 when Michael told us the story of Steven Spielberg‘s film E.T.

With a delicate transition we move on to happier news, as the digital remix EP’s from Minitel Rose and College are now available! Many artists from the collective and more widely the movement, have played a part, and here to wet your appetite is Maethelvin‘s vision of Minitel Rose’s track “Continue”.

Nous y sommes, c’est aujourd’hui que sort la compilation Valerie and Friends, fruit d’une collaboration avec le label ESR. Pour vous, nous avons réuni des titres exclusifs qui témoignent de la richesse créative de notre mouvement. Ce disque est une étape importante pour Valerie et se veut être un hommage à toutes nos rencontres artistiques passées et à venir. Plusieurs soirées seront d’ailleurs associées à la célébration de cet évènement à Orléans le 29/05, Paris le 30/05, Nantes le 5/06, Londres le 19/06 et Barcelone le 11/07.

Enfin, pour remercier tous nos lecteurs, les Outrunners vous livrent en intégralité et en haute qualité leur nouveau titre “Runaways”. Encore une production flamboyante dont le duo est le seul à détenir le secret!

We are finally there. Today is the day that our compilation, Valerie and Friends is out! In a collaboration with the label ESR, we gathered exclusive tracks which perfectly interpret the creative theme of our collective. This CD is an important stage for Valerie and is a tribute for all our past artistic meetings and those to come. Several nights of fun are due to coincide with this release, so far we have launch parties planned in Orléans 05/29, Paris 05/30 Nantes 06/05, London 06/19 and Barcelona 07/11.

Finally, as a thanks all our readers’ support, The Outrunners have delivered you a high quality version of their new track ” Runaways “, another blazing production from the duet which hold all the secrets!

This week, the Valerie Party which will be held in the Flèche D’Or will be an opportunity to appreciate the very first European live date for our Canadian friends Electric Youth. To celebrate this event, the first twenty people to send an e-mail to valeriejetaime@free.fr will be put down on the guest list. Also the special edition of Electric Youth‘s EP will be for sale exclusively during the evening. The lineup will be completed by a live and dj-set from College, Anoraak and Maethelvin. And while we wait for Friday, I give you a sonic adventure called “The Secret Diary Mix ” which follows upon ” The Teenage Color Mix ” and will plunge you a little deeper more the universe of College.

Fidèle au titre original, l’ajout d’une voix féminine nous permet cependant de poser un autre regard sur le morceau. Et puisque l’on évoque College, je vous encourage à jeter un coup d’oeil au premier clip tiré de Secret Diary, brillamment mis en scène et réalisé par Frantz Lasorne et Nicolas Guyon. She never came back !

This weekend, Valerie goes travels to Marseille to bring you a special evening at Le Cabaret Aleatoire, with live performances from Russ Chimes, College and Minitel Rose. You can find the flyer for this Valerie party above, our spirit perfectly captured, illustrated and signed by The Zonders, naturally.

We have a highly-rated sound this week, the Australian 1928, who did me the wonderful favour of remixing ‘Can you kiss me first’. This remix stays faithful to the original in mood and character, but the addition of a feminine vocal allows us glance upon it in a completely different way. And, as we are on the topic of College, please check out the first official video from the album ‘Secret Diary‘, perfectly directed and produced by Frantz Lasorne and Nicolas Guyon. The Valerie American tour ended last Friday, with a show at club Mezzanine in San Francisco. We crossed United States From East to West, from New York to the Californian coast, and we were completely taken by this fabulous country. We’d like to say a big thank you all the people who welcomed us on our journey! Firstly, thank you to our friends at FreeDanger, Jay and Susan in New York, for all their kindness. A thank you also to Dustin and Kalen who gave us two fantastic days in Chicago! In Los Angeles, it’s the Binary team (Josh, Kyle, Valerie) which we are keen to congratulate for their magnificent party that we shared with Keenhouse. Finally, in San Francisco, thanks to Alex and Loose Shus for all the unique moments which we enjoyed!
