L’évolution de la blogosphère ces dernières années a rendu plus rare les artistes acceptant de voir leur travail mis en téléchargement. Saluons donc l’initiative de Captain Now, un compositeur d’origine Norvégienne qui souhaitait venir présenter son travail sur Valerie en vous offrant deux extraits inédits et fort bien construits de son projet. On rejoint ici les notes de génériques TV 80′s et cela est d’ailleurs assez troublant, tant on a l’impression de reconnaître quelques thèmes bien connus. Sa production soignée et son sens de la mélodie en font donc un artiste à suivre de près!

The evolution of the blogosphere these last years made rarer the artists agreeing to see their work put in download. Thus let us greet the initiative of Captain Now, a Norwegian composer who wished to come to present his work on Valerie by offering you two extracts unpublished and very well built by his project. We join here the notes of 80′s TV credits and it is moreover rather disturbing, so much we have the impression to recognize some well known themes. Its well-kept production and its great sense of the melody thus make an artist follow closely!

Johan Agebjörn m’a fait parvenir son dernier album intitulé The Mountain Lake sorti sur le label Lotuspike. Cette nouvelle composition aussi soignée que les précédentes fait cette fois-çi la part belle aux collaborations et notamment avec Steve Moore pour le remix du titre Siberian Train.

Johan Agebjörn sent me his new album The Mountain Lake released out on the label Lotuspike. This new composition so well-kept as the previous ones makes this time a special place for collaboration and featuring like with Steve Moore for the beautiful remix of the track Siberian Train.

En parcourant les dernières sorties du génial label de Danny Wolfers, Strangelife Records, l’artiste italien Polysick a retenu toute mon attention. En effet, son projet semble être un chaînon manquant dans l’adn de la musique électronique contemporaine, un lien remarquable entre des influences acid et techno nord américaine et des moments mélodiques emprunt d’une nostalgie mystique et intemporelle. La richesse prodigieuse de son univers se prolonge aussi dans des programmes vidéos démentiels qu’il développe avec son label AAVV. Sa chaîne youtube, son blog et bien sûr sa musique sont des sources d’émerveillement artistiques comme on en rencontre rarement sur la toile. Cette semaine, il signe pour Valerie une sélection exclusive qui guidera votre esprit à travers les multiples facettes de sa création.

By crossing the last release of the Danny Wolfers’s brilliant label, Strangelife Records, the Italian artist Polysick quite held attention. Indeed, his project seems to be a missing link in the DNA of the contemporary electronic music, a remarkable mix between acid and north American techno influences and melodic moments loan of a mystic and timeless nostalgia. The prodigious wealth of its universe also goes on his insane videos broadcast which he develops with his own label AAVV. Its YouTube channel, its blog and of course its music are many sources of delight artistic as we rarely meet it on the internet. This week, he signs for Valerie an exclusive selection which will guide your mind through the multiple facets of its creation.

La création que je vous présente aujourd’hui est l’oeuvre d’un mystérieux projet anglais intitulé Orient Express. Leur titre “Arrival Back Home” est apparu en 2009 au sein du génial concours de démo d’Intergalactic Fm et n’a malheureusement jamais été édité depuis. Je vous invite également à prolonger cette découverte mélodique sur leur page Myspace qui présente deux autres productions tout aussi fabuleuses…

The creation which I present you today is the work of a mysterious English entitled project Orient Express. C’est en parcourant les nouveautés Electro, il y a quelques semaines que je me suis arrêté sur le vinyl “Chicken Accelerator“. Première sortie du jeune label allemand Astro Chicken, cette compilation regroupe les quatre artistes Hyboid, Starlight Hammer Sounds, Telebot et Sternrekorder. Hyboid, le boss de cette communauté de talentueux passionnés, à répondu à mon invitation et dirige donc pour vous cette semaine une sélection exclusive qui inclut des titres rares et inédits. Repéré en 2009 dans un concours de démo d’Intergalactic FM, le titre de Factory Aire, Battle of Yonkers, n’a malheureusement jamais été édité depuis. La très efficace ligne mélodique de cet artiste New-Yorkais méritait donc bien aujourd’hui un écrin de présentation numérique sur Valerie.

Spotted in 2009 with the help of a demo competition on Intergalactic FM, the track from Factory Aire, Battle of Yonkers, was regrettably never made in to a full track since. The very effective melodic lines of this New York artist definitely deserves full digital display on Valerie.

Ne vous fiez pas au rythme des articles sur le blog, l’actualité est riche en ce moment et même si mon agenda est aussi bien chargé je vous promet de revenir très bientôt vous présenter de nombreuses nouveautés! Je vous propose d’ailleurs de démarrer dès cette semaine puisque je vous propose de découvrir le projet espagnol Kuriaki et le titre “Memories”. Avec ses accents italo et sa construction naïve, cet extrait de l’album “Landscaper” est un vrai coup de cœur pour moi et je suis certain qu’il saura également vous séduire!

Do not rely on the pace of articles on the blog, the news is up to date right now and although my schedule is so busy I promise to return very soon to introduce many new features! However, I suggest you also start this week since I intend to launch the Spanish project Kuriaki, with the track “Memories”. With his Italo accent and naive construction, this extract from the album “Landscaper” is my favorit and I am sure he will seduce you!

Zeta Reticula

Producteur d’origine Slovène, Uroš Umek est un des pionniers de la scène électronique européenne. Dans les années 90, sa discographie impressionnante fera la part belle à bon nombre de maxis techno aussi efficaces que sur-vitaminés. Comme beaucoup à l’époque, il développera aussi des projets plus singuliers, comme la série Zeta Reticula, qu’il signera pour le label anglais Electrix Records. Sorti en l’an 2001, ce titre porte déjà les accents nostalgiques fondateurs de notre mouvement.

Producer of Slovenian origin Uroš Umek, is a pioneer of the European electronic scene. In the 90s, his huge discography had a good place in many techno EP so effective was his sound. As many in the period, he also developed more singular projects, as with the project Zeta Reticula, that he went on to sign with the English label Electrix Records. Released back in the year 2001, this title already carries the founding nostalgic accents of our movement.

Plusieurs dossiers en cours cette semaine sur le bureau de Valerie. Commençons par Anoraak qui signe, avec le savoir-faire qu’on lui connait, un très beau remix pour Mika. Poursuivons ensuite avec la nouvelle mixtape de mon ami Finlandais Lauri Soini qui visite, cette fois-ci, des contrées musicales aussi originales que variées. Enfin, pour célèbrer cette semaine la sortie digitale du dernier Ep de College, Paul nous offre son remix de Real Hero!
