We are finally there. Today marks the digital release of the very first album from Minitel Rose and the CD version will follow in a short week  (June 14th ).  Composed with their feet in the water and their heads in the stars the album borrows its name from the ocean which rocks our West Coast, the Atlantic. To celebrate this event, Maethelvin gives us a remix fantasy in the key of ” FM ” of Minitel’s 1st single ” Wild Birds “.

I bring to you this week, a new mix entitled “The Heart of the Matter” the most recent addition to the series of mixes by College. While the outlines of his debut album are slowly becoming clearer, this week Anoraak offers us up his latest remix for the New York group Shy Child, a musical meeting which shines particularly brightly. Fear of Tigers and Edwin Van Cleef are two English artists who are regulars on Valerie. Now they’re teaming up for the first time to celebrate the forthcoming release of Fear of Tigers‘s debut album ‘Cossus Snufsigalonica’ , which will be available as a free download on December 1st from FOT’s Facebook page. This exclusive remix of ‘The Adventures of Pippi Longstrump’ by Edwin Van Cleef breathes new life into the original. Plus, as a bonus here’s a shimmering new mix by Anoraak to bring in the autumn with the smiles and love!

Et en face B, le morceau Cruising dont je me rappelle encore très bien la première écoute. A l’époque, il ne s’agissait que d’une démo mais je me suis dit qu’aucun autre morceau ne pouvait mieux incarner l’esprit et le travail que nous réalisons sur le blog et au travers du collectif depuis 2 ans. Certains y verront peut être un générique, d’autres un hymne, une chose est sûre ce titre est un précieux trésor pour notre mouvement. Pour fêter cet évènement, Valerie offre aux six premiers acheteurs du 45 tours (disponible dans notre boutique) un t-shirt collector (taille medium uniquement) issu d’une collaboration entre Valerie et The Zonders à l’occasion d’une Valerie Party.

At last we have arrived at the second 7inch release by Valerie and Freedanger, only one year after the success of the 1st one which is now completely sold out. We are very proud to present to you our new spilt vinyl, with this time, two new tracks produced by Maethelvin and Stephen Falken. On side A, Maethelvin has composed ‘The Last Escape’ which is certainly one of his most beautiful tracks to date. Three minutes forty seconds of pure magic, which will make you guide you through a rich melodic story.

Side B, presents us with ‘Cruising’ by Stephen Falken, I still remember the first time i listened to this record very well. Back then it was only about a demo, but I said to myself that no other piece of music could better embody the spirit and the work which we celebrate on the blog and throughout our collective for the past 2 years. Some will see this track fit for tv credits, for others an hymn, one thing that is sure is that this title is an invaluable asset for our movement. To celebrate this event, Valerie offers to the first six buyers of the 7inch (available on our store page) a collector’s T-shirt  (medium size only) stemming from a collaboration between Valerie and The Zonders on the last Valerie Christmas Party.

The first Ep from Stephen Falken, entitled Visions goes out next week on the Belgian label Flexx Records, however you can already pre-order it here. To celebrate the event, Stephen Falken gives us the immense pleasure of posting a new sublime mix: one hour of discovery and pleasure which encompasses all the aspects of his musical universe. Unfortunatly, my satellite link with Stephen was strangely interrupted, so it’s is impossible to me to inform you of the playlist… despite that, I invite you, dear readers, to reveal the mysteries which surround this fabulous melodic journey.

On July 11th this year, part of the Collective was in Barcelona, at Club Razzmatazz, for the last party dedicated to the release of our first compilation. Before the performance, The Outrunners had the crafty idea to record their performance, a good means to relive the night for us, and for others to discover. What came out was excellent 2 hour mix, and as a  bonus this week, the brilliant Paul surprises us by offering us his new summer track, “Shine Sweet Freedom”.

It’s with the feline beauty of Grace Jones that I choose to illustrate the music of Galvatrons. This Australian group from Melbourne decided to prolong the history of the glam/hair metal wave in its purest tradition. All the ingredients are there: guitar hero solos, synths, long hair, and all wrapped up in a very solid production. In bonus, we have the very effective new remix of Russ Chimes for Frankmusik, the opportunity for me to remind you that Russ’s Australian tour kicks off this friday in Perth!

This week Valerie has a change of frequency! Our old blog has now transformed, and become an official home for our collective. Pour vous, nous avons réuni des titres exclusifs qui témoignent de la richesse créative de notre mouvement. Ce disque est une étape importante pour Valerie et se veut être un hommage à toutes nos rencontres artistiques passées et à venir. Plusieurs soirées seront d’ailleurs associées à la célébration de cet évènement à Orléans le 29/05, Paris le 30/05, Nantes le 5/06, Londres le 19/06 et Barcelone le 11/07.

Enfin, pour remercier tous nos lecteurs, les Outrunners vous livrent en intégralité et en haute qualité leur nouveau titre “Runaways”. Encore une production flamboyante dont le duo est le seul à détenir le secret!

We are finally there. Today is the day that our compilation, Valerie and Friends is out! In a collaboration with the label ESR, we gathered exclusive tracks which perfectly interpret the creative theme of our collective. This CD is an important stage for Valerie and is a tribute for all our past artistic meetings and those to come. Several nights of fun are due to coincide with this release, so far we have launch parties planned in Orléans 05/29, Paris 05/30 Nantes 06/05, London 06/19 and Barcelona 07/11.
